This week as part of our learning about body we looked at the Gingerbread Man story. We then had a number of follow up activities. The children painted Gingerbread Man pictures and had a go at creating their own.We tried to act out the story which turned into happy shouting and running around the classroom. There is a lot to learn about imaginative play in the future! The highlight of the week was making gingerbread man cookies out of play dough and later on the REAL ones, that the children could eat when they were ready!..

This week we concentrated on the difference between big and small objects. We did brainstorming of what is big and what is small. Although most children have rather limited English, they came up with the words like elephant, crocodile, spider and ant. In Numeracy they sorted big and small animals (they called them 'mama' and 'baby'!) by size and in Literacy we read and acted out a story of 'The Big Blue Fish and Small Colourful Fish'.
